When you think of counseling, think of communication. This includes both verbal and nonverbal responses to and in the presence of emotions. It is the work of supporting someone in making decisions when their willingness or ability to act is affected by their feelings. Effective counseling can help someone to explore, express, understand, and accept feelings so that they can make beautiful changes in their lives.
I am an educator of Masters and Doctoral level students; however, it is important to understand that counseling is different from education. I utilize education as a component of counseling. Good counseling is client-centered. What that means is that it is tailored to the behaviors, circumstances, and special needs of the person being served.
Counseling is not solving someone’s problem for them or giving advice. In the counseling process, I bring a set of skills to the interaction that can enable someone to reach a better understanding of the problem, deal with their related feelings and concerns, and assume responsibility for evaluating various alternatives and for making choices. Will you make the first step and allow me to help you have a counseling makeover? Allow me to support you on your journey to finding the beauty in change.
How are you feeling today? Let’s honestly explore the answer to that question. Are you experiencing emotions of being overwhelmed? Sad? Anxious? Worried? Decreased self-esteem? Motionless and unable to advance? “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’M POSSIBLE.” – Audrey Hepburn. Together, we can find that inner you and makeover your situation. I will provide a safe space for you to unburden your worries, fears, and pain so that you can discover and appreciate your own inner beauty and strength. I am committed to accompany you on your makeover of growth and change so that you can live the life you want . . . the life you deserve.
In counseling sessions, you will learn new ways to manage stress. You will be compassionately supported and guided to identify and overcome the blocks preventing you from attaining your goals. I combine traditional and contemporary approaches to health and wellness based on your individual needs and interests.

Group counseling is a special form of counseling that allows individuals to help one another. The sessions are facilitated by a professionally trained counselor. This approach is particularly effective for young adults and adults, as it helps them to develop a strong support system among themselves. By sharing and listening in the sessions, the group will learn from one another and the counselor to develop coping mechanisms and strengths to overcome challenging issues. A goal is that participants will understand that they are not alone in their struggles and will come to have a deeper understanding of a more global perspective of their own challenges. Participants will be supported throughout the process of reaching their individual goals.
